Welcome!

My name is Tyler Castle and this is my 16th year teaching at CCHS. I love speaking and teaching Spanish. I have a degree in Spanish from Calvin University and a MA in Education from Olivet Nazarene University. I also have an MA in Spanish Literature from Illinois State University. I have 6 children, 5 of them are also students in Coal City District #1. This year I am teaching Spanish 4 and AP Spanish.

I also have a child who is deaf and have been studying ASL through Gallaudet University. Gallaudet is the only university in the US for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. As a result I am happy to be a part of starting American Sign Language classes here at Coal City High School! This is very exciting and I encourage students to take ASL to be able to communicate with people who sign.
