Updated Remote Learning Information (Week of 5/4 - 5/11)
 
*Practical English students will be finishing the novel Bleachers and writing Thank You Letters to people who have helped them throughout their school careers.
 
*English III students will continue reading John Steinbeck's short novel Of Mice and Men by reading Section 4 and completing an assignment covering the that section of the novel.
 
*Honors English III students will be reading Chapters 5 and 6 of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and completing accompanying plot and character checks along with a short writing assignment.

*Practical English students will be reading the final "Thursday" section of the novel Bleachers and responding to questions concerning that portion of the novel.

*English III students will begin reading John Steinbeck's short novel Of Mice and Men  and completing an assignment covering the first section of the novel.
 
*Honors English III students will be doing some research work on elements of the Jazz Age and Roaring 20's in preparation for the study of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

*Practical English students will be reading a section of the novel Bleachers and responding to questions concerning that portion of the novel.
 
*English III students will be reading a Robert Burns poem titled "To a Mouse" and answering guided questions on the work. John Steinbeck took the title of his novel Of Mice and Men from this poem, and this assignment will lead into study of the novel.
 
*Honors English III students will continue the study of Edgar Allan Poe's Single-effect Theory concerning the short story by completing a writing assignment analyzing one chosen element of that theory in the context of two of Poe's horror stories previously studied in this unit.

*Practical English students will be completing vocabulary assignments based on the first half of John Grisham's book, Bleachers.
 
*English III students will be finishing a unit on American Gothic and completing a culminating activity on the unit.
 
*Honors English III students will be studying Edgar Allan Poe's Single-effect Theory concerning the short story by completing assignments comparing two of Poe's horror stories studied in the unit in the context of how they exhibit the single-effect.
