Saving Santa

Coal City High School’s Student Council is always coming up with unique activities and events for students and staff, and in the spirit of the holiday season they gifted the staff with a fun activity—an escape room.

Staff members reported to the Learning Resource Center during the daily Coaler Collaborative Time [CCT] on Wednesday. The staff teamed up to Save Santa and its was the team of Mrs. Cyrkiel, Mrs. Gerber, Mrs. Hayse, Mr. Leman and Mr. Unger who rescued the man in the red suit, ultimately saving the upcoming holiday.

Coaler Student Council is composed of students from across all four grades and advised by Allison Peterson and Stephanie Vuscko. To continue the holiday fun, the group has set up a series of holiday dress up days that begin on Monday, Dec. 8 for the entire school.

While the teachers were working to Save Santa, students were having some fun of their own as Principal Art Stafford and Assistant Principal Corey Mikula hosted games and activities for them to take part in.

“Thank you to all staff members who joined us, and thank you to Mr. Stafford and Mr. Mikula for hosting students,” Peterson said.
