Jaxon Duke has advanced to the Illinois High School Association [IHSA] Golf Sectional. The Coaler posted a score of 92 at the regional tournament on Wednesday to earn a spot in the sectional meet on Monday, Oct. 6 at Mauh-Nah-Tee Country Club in Rockford.
Coaler Corey Lovell scored a 92 and was in a four way tie to compete for the last two qualifying spots to advance. Coach Harlan Kennell reported Lovell was in a hole playoff and made it to the second hole before he was eliminated.
“I’m proud of both of these guys and the entire Coaler Golf Team on a great season,” Kennell said
As a team, the Coalers finished eighth overall. Also on the course for the Regional were: Frankie Ponio, 96; McKale Perino, 98; Cody Scheer, 100, and Trevor Walker, 100.
