Coal City Tennis showcased control and determination on Saturday, Sept. 6 securing a resounding victory at the Coaler Quad with a total team score of 10 wins, and racking up 170 total games. Senior Rebecca Hall had a standout performance going undefeated at the #1 singles position. She first took on Mendota's Ella Lewis, engaging in a strategic battle before ultimately prevailing with a 10-6 win, then following up with a 10-0 performance againstGibson City.-Melvin-Sibley's Charity Miguel.
The Coal City team saw more undefeated performances across the board, with shoutouts in order for newcomer Sophia Spoto, who went a perfect 2-0 in at #3 singles, as well as on the doubles side, with #2 duo of Kamryn Hansen and Bridget Feeney also undefeated, contributing 30 games to the team score. Strong teamwork and consistent play were key to Coal City’s overall success.
