Wednesday started strong with a dominant performance on the tennis court from Becca Hall at the No. 1 singles spot, who served incredibly well on her way to a decisive 6-3, 6-2 win. The momentum continued with victories from Lanie Winke and Kyla Kohler, securing a clean sweep in singles for Coal City.
The momentum carried over to doubles, where Camryn Planeta and Kyla Stark showed incredible composure, closing out a strong 6-0, 6-4 win to clinch the match for Coal City, and Kamryn Hansen and Bridget Feeney also fought to a victory at No. 2. The excitement didn't stop there, with the No. 3 Kenzie Lovell and Liv Weatherbee and No. 4 Kayla Stalter and Aubrey Jensen doubles teams playing phenomenal second sets to force tiebreakers. Despite falling just short in two intense battles, the grit and determination were on full display.
"This was a fantastic team effort. I'm very proud of the skill we are showing this early in the season and determination of every one of my players,” said Coach Leman.-
