Photography without a camera

Photo 1 students at Coal City High School are learning about and working on photography projects that don’t utilize a camera.

Art teacher Mrs. Brus has introduced her students to photograms and cyanotypes.

Cyanotypes is a process that produces blue-toned images when items are placed on sensitized paper that is exposed to UV light and rinsed.

Photograms are created by placing objects on light sensitive papers that are then exposed to light thus creating camera-less images.
