Coal City Tennis falls in opening match

 

 

The Coalers Girls Tennis Team opened the 2025 season at Morris on Monday with the host team taking the victory—6-1

 

In singles play—

Coaler Rebecca Hall fell to Skyler Seelens—6-1, 63-3

Shreya Patel, of Morris, defeated  Lanie Winke— 6-0 , 6-0 

Coal City’s Kyla Kohler defeated Audrey Williams— 6-1 , 6-1 

 

In doubles action—

Emerson Wheeler and Lyla Conley, of Morris,  defeated Coal City’s  Camryn Planeta, and Kyla Stark—6-1 , 6-1

Morris’ Olivia Novick and Gianna Marino defeated the Coalers. Kamryn Hansen and Bridget Feeney— 6-0 , 6-1

Adrienne Cherven and Vivian Benson, of Morris defeated Coal City’s Kayla Salter and Mackenzie Lovell—6-2 , 6-2

Maddie Hamer and  Lorelei Muffler, of Morris defeated Coalers Olivia Weatherbee, and Aubrey Jensen—6-3 , 6-0

 

The Coalers will take on Joliet West this evening [Tuesday]. Varsity will be at home and JV will head to Joliet for matches that begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday will find the team at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School for a 4:30 p.m. match and the Varsity Team will take part in the LaSalle-Peru Invite on Friday and Saturday.
