Coal City scores with Scores for Schools

To recognize the accomplishments of area high school athletic programs, Riverside Healthcare donated more than $12,500 to 18 high schools across Kankakee, Grundy, Will, and Iroquois counties for their 2024 fall sports seasons. Coal City High School received $1,260, the donation will be used to  support the school’s athletic programs. The donation was accepted with appreciation by football captain Landin Benson, football coach Francis Loughran and Coal City High School athletic director Brad Boresi. 

"Riverside is proud to recognize these remarkable student-athletes for their achievements," said Benjamin McLain, Riverside's vice president of operations, "As a community hospital, it is important to us to show our continued commitment to our schools and future community leaders."

Coal City was awarded $25 for every home varsity football touchdown and  $20 for every home varsity girls volleyball match won during the 2024 season.
