Senior Coalers, parents recognized

 

Senior members of the Coal City Girls Basketball team were recognized during Senior Night activities on Feb. 13. Honored for their commitment and contributions to the basketball team were—Kylee Kennell, D’Arcy Ness, Chloe Pluger, and Emma Rodriguez. As noted during Senior Night, this group of students left its mark at Coal City High School with its many accomplishments over the past four years and led the program to great success. 

 

Kylee Kennell is a three-sport athlete at Coal City High School and her involvement with the basketball team began her freshman year. During her high school athletic career she has been a state qualifying golfer and an All-Conference soccer player. Kylee is also involved in National Honor Society, Coalers with Character, FBLA, Coaler Store and yearbook. Following graduation in May she plans to enroll in a four year university to study occupational therapy. Joining her on Senior Night were her parents Harlan and Danielle Kennell. 

 

D’Arcy Ness is a four year member of the Coalers Basketball Team and was recognized on Senior Night for her commitment to the program. During high school, she has also participated in golf, softball and Coalers with Character. D’Arcy’s future plans are to major in elementary education. She will begin her studies at Joliet Junior College and continue her softball career at the collegiate level. Accompanying D’Arcy on Senior Night were her parents, Randy and Jenn Ness. 

 

Chloe Pluger was recognized on Senior Night as a four year member of the Coalers Girls Basketball Team. Joining her on the court for the recognition were her mom, Kelly Flood, and father and step-mother Matt and Candi Pluger. Along with basketball, Chloe participates in soccer, National Honor Society, Link Leaders, Coalers with Character and the Women EnpowHer Project. Chloe plans to continue her education at Eureka College majoring in political science and history with a major in psychology. 

 

Emma Rodriguez has been a dedicated member of the Coalers Girls Basketball Team for all four years of high school. Her commitment to the program was celebrated during Senior Night activities. Along with basketball, Emma participated in volleyball earning All-Conference honors. She also participates in Coalers with Character and Link Leaders. Emma’s plans are to continue her education at the University of St. Francis where she will major in business and play volleyball for the Fighting Saints. Accompanying Emma on Senior Night were her parents, Adam and Katie Rodriguez.
