Lady Coaler golfers honored on Senior Night

Dakota Clubb is a four year member of the golf team and was the 2023  ladies golf ICE Conference Champion. “She is one of the players that have been on the team since freshman year,” Coach Tim Gabehart  said, noting she is one of those players that always come through and will be missed by the team. Dakota was escorted on Senior Night by her parents Brandon and Stepanie Clubb. Following graduation in the spring she plans to enroll at Joliet Junior College to major in criminology.

Peyton Gibson joined the golf team this season and in the words of her coach, “has been a pleasure to have.” Gibson worked hard on her game before the season started and it was a tremendous help heading into the fall. “Her scores are decreasing every meet which signifies dedication,” Coach Tim Gabehart said. Gibson is also involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Math Team, Link Leaders and FBLA. She was escorted by her parents Heather and Greg Gibson on Senior Night. Following high school her plans are to attend a four year college to study nursing.

Kylee Kennell is a four year member of the golf team, captain and 2023 state qualifier. “Kylee takes directions and suggestions for her game without questions and uses it for her success. Her goal this year is not quality for state, but to place in the top 10. She has a very good chance of accomplishing that task,” Coach Tim Gabehart  said, adding, Kylee is one of those students who excels in whatever she does. Kylee is also involved in Coaler Basketball, Soccer, Coalers with Character, Coaler Creations, Yearbook, National Honor Society and FBLA. She was escorted on Senior Night by her parents Harlan and Danielle Kennell. Her future plans are to attend a four year university earning a degree that allows her to become a pediatric occupational therapist.

D’Arcy Ness is a three year member of the Lady Coaler Golf team. “D’Arcy is a very consistent player and a solid member of the team,” said Coach Tim Gabehart, who noted D’Arcy sat out her junior season due to a torn ACL. In addition to golf, she is a member of the softball and basketball teams and Coalers with Character. She was escorted on Senior Night by her parents Randy and Jennifer Ness. D’Arcy’s future plans are to enter the field of education.

Madi Petersen is in her second year on the golf team. “Her work ethic is outstanding. She practices constantly on her own while playing travel softball. It is not unusual for her to attend golf practice and then head north for softball practice. Making for long days, I wish I had more like her on the team. She is a positive influence and role model,” Coach Tim Gabehart said. Peterson is also involved in Coaler Softball, Link Leaders, Coalers with Character, Art Club, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.  She was escorted on Senior Night by her parents Branden and Stephanie Petersen.
