Begin by reading the "Visiting an Art Museum" PDF. Then, follow the link to the Google Form: Virtual Art Museum Assignment. Answer the questions on the Form relating to The Art Institute of Chicago, then explore the Museum. The final question will relate to your Virtual Tour.
Spend some time taking a "virtual tour" of the museum with Google Art Project. Choose 1 work of art to write about. Provide the Artist's Name, Title, Medium, and Date of the piece that you selected. What drew you to this piece? Describe and Interpret the work of Art.

Students will create an original work of art that represents a highly developed and coherent theme between three distinct panels meant to be displayed together. (Triptych)

Ideation INCREMENTS in Google Classroom

Ideation INCREMENTS

Use one sheet of paper.
In the center of the paper draw an object. The object should be kitsch, common image, simplistic image. The object should be about 3” to 4”.
Take a picture of this image.
Look at the first page of alteration choices. Pick one. In one minute make that alteration to your original drawing.
Look at the second page of alteration choices. Pick one. In one minute make that alteration to your original drawing.
Continue to do this until you have completed 3-4 alterations.
Use good craftsmanship throughout the entire assignment.

One a second piece of paper, compose your image using the Rule of Thirds.
Select a light source direction.
Add shading and shadows.
Crop for asymmetrical balance.
Compare the final drawing to the original drawing.

Attach 3 images...Your first simple drawing, the final iteration, and your revised final sketch. (Remember this is more about process rather than a finished drawing for this activity)
