Students will use Line, Shape, and Value to draw an Apple from observation in 3 phases. The first phase will be the whole apple, the second phase will be with one bite taken, and the third phase will be down to the core. Use dynamic value with gradations of light to dark. When you are finished you will take a picture of your finished drawing and attach it to this assignment and TURN IN. (Tip - take a picture at each phase so you can reference the highlights and shadows during the second class period)

Students will create a personality sketch that includes their name and at least three things about them. Required images: Their name using creative lettering and at least three things about themselves using drawn objects.

As we begin the school year I want you to remember that your attitude will set the course. Having a growth mindset is key to success in any endeavor. Create a poster that you can hang up to remind yourself of this concept. Using creative lettering create a visually pleasing composition for your poster. Feel free to use a variety of media. (i.e. watercolor, pencil, colored pencil, etc.)
