CCHS's Project EmpowHER is in Full Swing!
The excitement is building for Project EmpowHER, which is set to take place on April 23rd, 2025! This amazing event is all about encouraging, uplifting, and supporting females, and it's coming to CCHS (Coal City High School).
One of the key elements of the event is the special T-shirts being designed by students at the Grundy County Vocational Center (GAVC). These shirts will represent the spirit of the event and show the strength and unity of the girls and women involved. In the picture, you can see CCHS/GAVC student D'Arcy Ness proudly showcasing the hard work and creativity of those participating.
The goal of Project EmpowHER is to create an empowering environment for young women to feel supported and celebrated. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community, inspire each other, and spread a positive message of empowerment.
Stay tuned as we get closer to the event – we can’t wait to see how Project EmpowHER unfolds!

On November 14th, selected middle & high school students participated in team building exercises at the 2024 P.O.P.S. event. P.O.P.S. is a teen leadership event that focuses on positive decision making and teamwork! Youth from Coal City High, Reed-Custer, Wilmington & Morris Schools came together to make new friends and share new experiences.
Peers Offering Positive Solutions (P.O.P.S.) is ran every year by the student staff members of the surrounding areas' schools!
