Coalers lend a helping hand

The students in Ms. George’s class at Coal City High School have been practicing hands-on skills throughout the community this year. For the past two years, the students have been volunteering at We Care of Grundy County with various tasks learning job and life skills while bridging connections to the community. Some tasks included packing food boxes donated to those in need, cleaning and maintaining the warehouse/offices, checking expiration dates on donated items, and stocking shelves. The students completed their last volunteer day of the school year on April 18. Mrs. George reports the staff at We Care was impressed with their skills and dedication and look forward to the students returning next year.
