Curriculum Guide
The Curriculum Guide contains information about the career paths offered at Coal City High School. Each career path description identifies representative employment opportunities for which the student will be prepared after completion of high school and postsecondary education. In addition, a recommended sequence of courses is provided for each path. Detailed descriptions of courses are included in the guide. Students can select the career path that will prepare them to attain their goals by following the prescribed sequence of courses. In completing a career path, the student will develop skills and knowledge necessary to apply for entry-level employment or be prepared to pursue additional postsecondary education at a college or university, community college, trade school, or apprenticeship program. Beginning in January, counselors and teachers will assist students in the selection of courses for the following year. Parents are encouraged to contact their child's counselor to assist in this process. Following completion of registration, parents will be mailed a copy of the courses selected by the student. Please note that courses will only run if enrollment is sufficient. If any course is canceled, an alternate course will be scheduled. Students and parents are encouraged to contact a school counselor if they have any questions regarding course selection or the registration process.
