Coalers participate in Conference Choir Festival

On Nov. 6 some of Coal City High School's singers traveled to Reed-Custer High School for the annual Illinois Central Eight Conference Choral Festival. Students worked hard, both in and out of school, to prepare their music. The festival day was filled with rehearsal time, sectional workshops, chances to connect with other students from around the conference, and opportunities to work with various directors. Leading this year's festival was Dr. Robert Sinclair from VanderCook College of Music. The day concluded with a concert, showcasing the 100+ musicians' hard work and dedication. Coal City is scheduled to host the festival next year, and Choir Director Mr. Felbein said, “we look forward to inviting students, directors, and a guest clinician to make the event another meaningful opportunity for our musicians!”
