The Coal City Theatre Department is excited to host its first Athletes in the Arts performance to kick-off Coalers Homecoming Week.
Theatre Department member and Coalers athlete Brody D’Orazio is the mastermind of this event that will feature Coaler athletes singing, dancing and sharing their hidden talents.
D’Orazio, a three-sport athlete and vice-president of Drama Club, proposed the idea as a fun way to not only kick-off Homecoming Week, but to showcase the many talented students in the high school and bring athletics and arts together.
The performance will feature multiple athletes who will showcase their talents that reach beyond the playing field, court, course or mat. In addition to individual performances, there will be group numbers and a few of the fall sports teams will also be taking the stage.
Athletes in the Arts will be held in the Coal City Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Sept. 21 beginning at 6 p.m. Seating is general admission and tickets will be sold at the door.
